My work has always focused on "people" and "body". The body is the most primitive language of the human being. Starting from a person’s external appearance, gradually exploring the inner self, and extending to the society and culture in which the photographed person lives. The subjects of my work range from traditional to contemporary. To create with the body, it is better to say to create with body consciousness. The body is a tangible image that can be felt by the five senses and creation is to verbalize and symbolize the image, using concrete symbols to directly convey inner feelings, as a means of feelings and creating more sensitive themes.
It is this ongoing evolvement that has led me to think of adding dimension to my photographs. Through the process of using mixed media, I am now creating work that allows me to while, not being a sculptor, allows me to bring together the elements of sculpture and photography into what I think of as photosculpture. I am moving from the 2-dimensional world of the photograph to a 3-dimensional one using mixed media to create greater emotion in my work. This allows me to bring these elements together transforming the body and mind into a natural landscape which is the focus of my work today.
